Tonal Variance-

Due to the organic process of natural dye, a piece of fiber that is dyed solid may develop areas that are darker or lighter in tonality.

Different natural dyes can react to impurities in the water in different ways, and have variable sensitivity to pH. Pieces of fiber dyed in the same dye lot can sometimes accept the dye in slightly different tones.
